Pupils at St Charles Catholic Primary School in Spennymoor enjoyed a memorable Careers Week experience when entrepreneur Sara Davies visited the school to share her inspiring career journey.

As part of the school’s Careers Week activities, children welcomed Sara Davies, entrepreneur, Dragon’s Den investor and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, for a special talk about her professional experiences and the importance of following your ambitions.

During her visit, Sara spoke to pupils about her journey to becoming a successful businesswoman. She reflected on her own school days, shared some of her favourite memories from education and explained how she now helps other people achieve their goals and grow their ideas.

The visit gave pupils a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand about the world of business, entrepreneurship and determination. Children listened carefully as Sara offered advice and encouragement, helping them think positively about their future careers and aspirations.

Pupils left the session feeling motivated and empowered by the insights she shared, with many inspired by her message about working hard and believing in themselves.

Before leaving the school, Sara spent time with St Charles Catholic Primary School’s social media team, who spoke with her about their role within the school. Members of the team enjoyed the chance to meet her and discuss their experiences.

Year 6 pupils also had the opportunity to ask Sara questions and take a photograph with her, making the visit a memorable highlight of Careers Week.

Headteacher, Lisa Thompson, said:

“We were delighted to welcome Sara Davies to our school as part of Careers Week. Her story, advice and experiences inspired our pupils and helped them think about the many possibilities available to them in the future. We are very grateful that she took the time to visit and share her journey with our children.”

The visit formed part of the school’s commitment to broadening pupils’ horizons and helping them learn about a wide range of career pathways through real-life experiences and inspirational role models.
